Baseball Bash

It's the World Series! In honor of the amazing games between the Yankees & Phillies, I thought I'd feature some of my favorite baseball ideas. Hopefully they'll help you hit a home run the next time you entertain!

It all starts with the perfect invite. Love these round baseballs from Luscious Verde, and these letterpress invites from Twig & Fig that use actual turf! Both available at papery & cakery.

Martha had a wealth of ideas on hosting a kids baseball birthday party. I adore these baseball cupcakes! She also gave ideas for a great party favors filled with with chocolate baseballs, baseball gum balls, Tootsie rolls, baseball-bat taffy lollipops, wax soda bottles, Smarties, and a pack of baseball cards, a whistle and lanyard. I think cracker jacks would be another wonderful addition!

Pottery Barn sells this fabulous glassware etched with your favorite team's name along with a monogram. There are pilsner glasses, old-fashioned, beer mugs and large bowls. You won't strike out serving food and drinks in these!

These stitched cufflinks are made from actual baseballs. I think they'd make the perfect gift for a baseball lover or even for groomsmen.

Hit it out of the ballpark with an awesome cake like this one, featuring a hat and playing cards from Confetti Cakes.

Hope these ideas have you swinging for the fences!

xoxo,

Niki

Coming Soon: Dauphine

I've been so busy since my return from the National Stationery Show in NYC last week, I haven't had a chance to gush about all of the new products coming to papery & cakery this summer. I have been looking forward to seeing Dauphine Press' wedding book since Trish connected with my sister in NYC this past fall. After receiving Dauphine's spectacular pre-show mailing (see the playing cards featured above) and finally viewing their incredible wedding & design books at the show, I took the plunge!

I cannot wait for the Dauphine books to arrive this summer. Dauphine features elegant custom letterpress invitations & stationery. The line is self described as an elegant and understated aesthetic, "with a traditional appeal that is perfect for casual or formal use." I don't think I could have said it better.

The designs incorporate urban elements, along with objects from nature and incredible florals. I think my favorite thing about Dauphine is the endless options for customization. Dauphine has a wealth of motifs, inks, fonts & papers that can be changed and customized at no additional charge. There are also silky ribbons, decorative liners & papers, fabulous pocket folders & tons of colored envelopes to choose from as upgrades. I especially love their commitment to be environmentally friendly, using low VOC inks and offsetting their carbon footprint by investing in clean, renewable energy.

I'll keep you updated on the exciting arrival of the book. Make your appointment today!

xoxo,

Niki

Countdown to NYC: Arabella

Arabella Papers is one of papery & cakery's newest lines. Arabella invitations are "bellpress," which gives the crisp, raised look of engraving without the bruise. There is also more adaptability for design, and design they do! I love Arabella's grande ribbon folders, which are often done in tone on tone bellpress. These invitations range from choices of bold, rich & vibrant colors for a contemporary feel, or soft pale and pastel shades for a more traditional look. Also, bellpress is incredibly affordable!

Arabella offers fabulous details such as ribbons, tags, belly bands, and of course, gorgeous folders in various shapes and sizes. The thick, luxurious envelopes really make a statement in the mail (especially when coupled with beautiful calligraphy by fontastic calligraphy). I am obsessed with Arabella's unique, exotic patterns and textures!

I'm so excited to see Arabella's new Bar & Bat Mitzvah book in NYC, and of course to meet the fabulous Atlanta ladies from Arabella.

xoxo,

Niki
