Movie Week: Alice Inspire

With the Oscars last night, this week is dedicated to movie inspired events. Alice in Wonderland is the perfect way to start it off! The bright colors, imaginative decor and overall craziness creates the most fantastic party atmosphere!

I found this photograph on imdb.com and thought it would make for a fantastic invitation to the party. Papery and Cakery could create something custom, using this as inspiration, to help you fall down the rabbit hole!

I absolutely love this Alice in Wonderland themed party from Lollipop Events. This would make for the most fun and creative bridal tea party, shower, birthday party... or any old reason to celebrate! Be sure to invite the Cheshire cat and the Queen of Hearts!

I adore this fantastic photoshoot for an Alice and Wonderland themed party, featured on the Amy Atlas Events blog. The photos were shared with Amy by the South African store, In Good Company. The images are so whimsical and breathtaking!

Hopefully this will give you a little inspiration for your next {Mad Hatter tea} party!

xoxo,

Ali

Baseball Bash

It's the World Series! In honor of the amazing games between the Yankees & Phillies, I thought I'd feature some of my favorite baseball ideas. Hopefully they'll help you hit a home run the next time you entertain!

It all starts with the perfect invite. Love these round baseballs from Luscious Verde, and these letterpress invites from Twig & Fig that use actual turf! Both available at papery & cakery.

Martha had a wealth of ideas on hosting a kids baseball birthday party. I adore these baseball cupcakes! She also gave ideas for a great party favors filled with with chocolate baseballs, baseball gum balls, Tootsie rolls, baseball-bat taffy lollipops, wax soda bottles, Smarties, and a pack of baseball cards, a whistle and lanyard. I think cracker jacks would be another wonderful addition!

Pottery Barn sells this fabulous glassware etched with your favorite team's name along with a monogram. There are pilsner glasses, old-fashioned, beer mugs and large bowls. You won't strike out serving food and drinks in these!

These stitched cufflinks are made from actual baseballs. I think they'd make the perfect gift for a baseball lover or even for groomsmen.

Hit it out of the ballpark with an awesome cake like this one, featuring a hat and playing cards from Confetti Cakes.

Hope these ideas have you swinging for the fences!

xoxo,

Niki

Fabulous First Birthday Parties

To celebrate our birthday week in style, here is a sampling of a few fabulous first birthday parties to inspire! Don't forget to comment on yesterday's post to be eligible to win fantastic Pica Press labels.

It's a little sad that when you celebrate your first birthday, you are a teensy bit too young to actually remember it. If I could do it all over again, I'd have a colorful, Candyland fiesta like Trista & Ryan threw for baby Max's first. Thanks to Jennifer from Hostess Blog for designing such an sweet, sugary and candy-coated birthday!

This 1st birthday, also found on Hostess' fantastic site featured an enchanted fairy theme. From butterflies to glittery fairies, I think even Tinkerbelle would really love this gala. What a magical day!

Winter wonderland for a one year old? Love love love this sophisticated soiree from Lollipop Events. The aqua and gold colors, enchanting dessert table, and vintage decor each melded perfectly with the witty theme "1 upon a time."

I think the bottom line just might be, despite the fact most one year olds don't have all of their teeth... candy is the most dandy at every first shindig. Who wouldn't want one of these delectable tables by Amy Atlas at their first fete?

xoxo,

Niki

Happy February Birthdays

It's been quite awhile since my last entry. Things have been amazing at Papery & Cakery. I've had the opportunity to use my graphic design skills and work on some incredible birthday invitations. I thought I'd do a birthday post to show some of the custom work that is available at Papery!

The birthday balloon custom design for Congregation B'nai Israel's 25th Birthday Bash Auction features bright and bold pastels and primaries to wish CBI the ultimate happy birthday. This invite was a particular labor of love. I hope that the event itself is just as exciting and happy as this invitation is!

Isabella's 4th birthday invite was another custom design. It featured a Cinderella lavish pumpkin carriage and came attached to a proclamation from the Queen Mum. Ellen's 50th invite features red lips and an unmistakable kiss. The party is given with love by the fabulous Melanie!

My own birthday was last week. The picture is of a lunch celebration with my cousin Hallie & grandma at Seredipity 3. Who doesn't love frozen hot chocolate?!

Happy February Birthdays! Enjoy all of P&C's custom designs!

xoxo,

Niki
